$5,000 in donations to the TART Trail system can become a $10,000 donation thanks to a challenge match made by Traverse City Tourism. The tourism group is doubling donations that are made on Giving Tuesday, November 30th up to $5,000. Donations can be made in person during a special event at Silver Spruce Brewing or online at traversetrails.org/give/donate/ .
Giving Tuesday is observed on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving and is recognized as the start of the charitable contribution season. TART Trails relies on the generous contributions of individuals, families, businesses, and local organizations to provide and promote a trail network that enriches people and communities throughout the greater Traverse region.
“The TART Trails are part of a network of trails around Traverse City that promotes a healthy lifestyle, care for the environment, and an appreciation of the natural beauty that is valued in this region. The Traverse City Tourism matching grant is designed to preserve this vital trail system and make it more accessible. We are confident many others embrace this valued resource and will meet or exceed the $5,000 challenge” stated Traverse City Tourism’s president, Trevor Tkach.
In addition to the generous matching challenge provided by Traverse City Tourism, there will also be a special happy hour for TART Trails at Silver Spruce Brewing on Tuesday, November 30th. TART staff will be at Silver Spruce from 4 pm to 7 pm collecting donations and talking trails. One dollar of each pint of beer and cider sold during that time will be donated to TART Trails.
